Rep Seat

Personal dashboard and performance view for sales reps.

The Rep Seat gives sales reps visibility into their own performance, action items, and meetings — completely free and unlimited.

What You Get

Personal Dashboard

  • Your open action items
  • Upcoming 1:1 meetings with your manager
  • Personal quota and pipeline summary
  • Personal performance metrics (win rate, quota attainment)

Your Data Only

  • Your deals and pipeline
  • Your meetings with manager

What You Don't Get

Rep Seats are read-only for your own data:

Why: Rep Seats are for visibility and accountability, not coaching.

Who Should Have Rep Seats

Rep Seats are for:

  • Sales reps (AEs, SDRs, CSMs)
  • Anyone being coached by a manager with SMVue
  • Team members who need to see their own performance

Rep Seat Capabilities

Rep Dashboard Features

Action Items

What you see:

  • Open action items assigned to you
  • Overdue items (highlighted)
  • Recently completed items

What you can do:

  • Mark items complete
  • View item details
  • See linked deals or meetings

Upcoming Meetings

What you see:

  • Scheduled 1:1s with your manager
  • Meeting type and date/time
  • Join link (if calendar connected)

What you can do:

  • View meeting details
  • Join meeting from calendar link
  • See past meeting notes (read-only)

Performance Summary

What you see:

  • Personal quota and progress
  • Open pipeline value and deal count
  • Win rate and average deal size
  • Activity levels (meetings, calls, emails)

What you can do:

  • Track your own performance
  • See how you're trending
  • Identify areas to improve

Skills Development

What you see:

  • Skills assessments assigned to you
  • Skill ratings from manager
  • Coaching focus areas
  • Progress over time

What you can do:

  • View skills ratings
  • See manager's coaching recommendations
  • Track improvement over time

Deal Update Requests

When your manager requests a deal update:

  1. Notification — You receive email and in-app notification
  2. Open Request — Click notification to see request
  3. Provide Update — Fill in structured form:
    • Current stage and close date
    • Next steps and timeline
    • Any concerns or blockers
  4. Submit — Manager receives your update

Why This Matters:

  • Keeps manager informed without constant check-ins
  • Shows you own your pipeline
  • Demonstrates proactive communication

Rep Seat Limitations

Cannot Access:

  • Team-wide data or analytics
  • Other reps' pipelines or performance
  • Manager coaching tools (Sales Coach, Meeting Prep)
  • Notebooks (except read-only view of your own)
  • Organization or team settings

Cannot Create:

  • Action items
  • Meetings
  • Notes or pages
  • Skill assessments

Read-Only Access:

  • Meeting notes from 1:1s
  • Notebooks (your team member notebook only)
  • Skill assessments

Inviting Reps

Managers or Owners can invite reps:

  1. Go to Settings > Team
  2. Click Invite Member
  3. Enter rep's email
  4. Select Rep Seat
  5. Choose which manager they report to
  6. Send invitation

Rep receives:

  • Email invitation
  • Link to create account
  • Access to their personal dashboard

Rep Seat Pricing

Always Free:

  • No limit on number of Rep seats
  • Included with all SMVue plans (Solo and Team)
  • No additional cost

Why Free:

  • Encourages adoption across entire team
  • Reps benefit from visibility into their own data
  • Accountability drives better performance

Privacy & Transparency

What Reps Can See

Reps see their own data only:

  • Their deals and pipeline
  • Their meetings and action items
  • Their performance metrics
  • Their skills assessments

What Reps Cannot See

Reps cannot see:

  • Other reps' data
  • Manager coaching notes (unless shared)
  • Team-wide analytics
  • Confidential manager insights

Philosophy: Transparency builds trust. Reps should see how they're evaluated.

Best Practices for Reps

Check Dashboard Daily

  • Review open action items
  • Mark completed items
  • Prepare for upcoming 1:1s

Respond to Update Requests Promptly

  • Manager needs your input to coach effectively
  • Shows ownership of your pipeline
  • Prevents surprises in 1:1s

Review Meeting Notes

  • See what was discussed last time

Upgrading from Rep to Manager Seat

If a rep becomes a manager:

  1. Owner changes their seat type to Manager
  2. They gain full coaching access
  3. Can now coach other reps
  4. Requires available Manager seat (may need to purchase)

Data Preserved:

  • All historical data retained
  • Meeting notes and action items remain
  • Now can see team they manage
